Some in the State Dept must be looking at Hamas and thinking IRA. If Hamas were to get to govern at some level and concentrated on continuing their reputation as being competent managers, perhaps their inclination toward violence would lessen? At least thats the hope. Everything else has failed so isnt anything worth trying? Actually anti-israel fanatics like Len may be doing israel a favor by calling Hamas freedom fighters--it may give hamas an get out of jail card along with some monitoring and financing in exchange for eschewing terrorism??
