KM should check out Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, Atlanta, or Columbia,SC since Texas isn't her cup of tea. Also a ton of other towns in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Good climate, quality of life and affordable housing. For investing in property I'm with you, if I was in Dallas right now I'd be like a kid in a candy store<g>
