Peter - you are exactly right - Ascend (or "Descend") is not going through anything new here. Contrary to what the rookies who watch way too much MSNBC may think, ASND is not the first company to miss their number and fall out of favor. My my, I recall a networking company that was the premier target of jokes and gloom and doom, and is now in the middle of a wonderful rebound. It all comes down to confidence. If investors are confident that a rebound will occur in a timely fashion, then this is a great opportunity for folks to grab all of the rookies' shares at a great price. However, on the converse side - if ASND doesn't fix their problems, then it's going to be a long ride to the Land of Also-Rans. From what I understand, their biggest problems are a horrific merger process and the basic fact that their hardware is not performing well against some of the competition. Good luck to all - no matter which road you take. -c
