One last research point. I asked my mother (who teaches first grade in an elementary school in Colorado) if any of her students had virtual pets. She said her students had been e-mailing a classroom in Australia and the students there asked her students of they had Tamagotchis. Her students replied they didn't but they did have Giga Pets. My mom didn't understand the difference (she thought they were completely different toys). I gave her a quick history on virtual pets and the different brands. It was nice to know that Australian kids are into Tamagotchis and my mom's students are at least into virtual pets. Only a few of her students have them, though. Kirk
