I won't get into my personal analysis of the individual parties or their representatives, as you have done a pretty good job, but I have to say that I have never met a polititcian that I trusted, and I have met a few. I do wish you well in your quest to change any minds, but you could make better use of your time with others perhaps, rather than trying to convince me that Harper is good for Canada. <vbg>
I think the discussion should be which leader will do the least damage in the upcoming term. Who will steal the least, waste the least, and actually straighten out some of the sloppy spending that has been the hallmark of the Feudal Liberals. Just like Jean Chretien, Paul Martin seems to believe in his own divine right to rule.
Look at his attempts to control gun crime, he wasn't even aware that handguns had been effectively banned for 70 years. Or the vast improvement he has made in US/Canada relations. The man is way out of his league as Prime Minister. If the Liberals had a better leader, someone less incompetent, it might be a better choice than the Conservatives or the NDP, But if the Liberals had a competent leader, we wouldn't be having an election. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Conservative Minority, followed by a Conservative majority with the party led by Peter MacKay.... |
