That's slightly on the lunatic fringe end :)

Tar sands, nuclear energy, much better solar collection, and rationing by price will keep things at the level of an inconvenience at worst, indefinitely. We may eat less meat, drive smaller cars, and live in smaller (energy-efficient)homes. Just like say England when I grew up in the 70's. It was fine.
