During that time, the President had the support of the media, and they did not expose the efforts of our agencies, and deliberately try to hurt the efforts of the President to keep the general population safe.

Maybe you have something your are trying to hide. If it does not affect the security of the nation, you have nothing to fear. Your post makes me wonder just what you might have done.

You are very trusting. What makes you think they will limit their wiretapping to just people they think pose a threat? Why do you assume that all the people involved in this program are good citizens who are only concerned about our welfare and security? There are reasons why certain things are not permitted in a free society. There are reasons why the right to privacy is a key element of any democracy. I have nothing to hide but I don't want the gov't listening to my phone calls just in case. It worries me that you are so willing to give away our rights and protections because Mr. Bush says you should.
