But who ever said it was a "fault" in the first place? You overlook the fact that development, that is, the mastering of sciences and technologies come at a price... a price that could eventually amount to self-annihilation. If, for instance, events between Iran and Israel get out of hand, Judeofascists might be tempted to set off a nuke or two in European or US cities --not in some African wastelands! One big, devastating stroke is enough to push Europe or America back by a few decades --just think of how New Orleans was turned into a third-world cesspit by a single hurricane....

LOL... must be one of your 20p jokes!(*) Today, all the French and Belgian media are abuzz about the successful launch of the first Galileo GPS-satellite, Chinese rocket scientists are setting their sights on the moon, Iran vows to master nuclear technologies, and even Brazil is developing space technologies. No, the world isn't waiting for Africa. Actually, it isn't even waiting for the industrial/advanced world's own losers and have-nots to catch up! Millions of poor whites, from the US trailer trash to Russian boozers to European jobless are slumming it only a coupla rungs above Africa's poor.... Not to speak of India's outcasts and China's displaced farmers --billions of them!

It's none of that, it's just immaterial.... The Bible belt's Jesus freaks too live in some other "time frame" as do Europe's soccer hooligans or Mexico's wetbacks who scramble across the Rio Grande to drudge their American Dream.... Sweeping generalizations can be misleading: roughly half of Europe's and America's populations --the so-called middle classes-- enjoy the fleshy fruits of civilization, namely, education, culture, healthcare, stable employment, and leisure. Yet, as we're all too aware of it, the middle class party won't last forever....
