My guess is that it's just another example of this administrations ineptitude at running even the most basic functions of government. Not only is their policy bad, but they are weak functional administrators.

If they ran your city government, your garbage wouldn't get picked up or your streets cleaned... then they would blame the "first responders" in the neighborhoods.


I think you're right. Its so easy to trash them that you have to wonder if you are being unreasonable. But it seems the obvious answer is the right answer. They either have low standards, just don't care or are totally incompetent. The ambassadorship to England used to be one of the most coveted in diplomatic circles. It would be considered the reward for good and competent service. Now of course, presidents give the job to their crony friends. In any case, to leave the position vacant for a year is unconcionable and a snub to our English ally.
