The dealer told me that Krugerrands have one ounce of gold, but other alloys are added to make the coin more durable. He told me that if a maple leaf is dropped on a tile floor, it would make a small indentation because gold is very soft and the maples have a smaller amount of non-gold components.

Apparently, there is a greater demand for coins with a higher percentage of gold.

I'm a beginner and would like to know more from people who have experience.
