Did you read the article on RNA from M.I.T.? I think they are getting close to finding the "bootstrap" reaction from which non living chemicals become reproducing life. The real importance of their studies is not finding chemicals which can duplicate themselves, but in finding a natural "selection" process which promotes those chemicals. TP
