Thanks for relaying that information. I was very suspicious at the price-rise before the company PR.

I've been looking at the company for a week or so. I made a couple of calls to them with regard to their solar cells. I'm interested in installing them on the roof of my home and on airplane hangar roofs. I live in San Diego where their Solar division is based.

I'm unimpressed by their salesforce so far. The woman I spoke with was unable to tell me what conversion efficiency I could expect from converters and hence how much AC power I could expect from a set-up that's rated for its DC output. She directed me to the company website, but I couldn't find the information there either.

She did tell me the state and federal subsidies available, but not about prices paid by the local electricity company for power I could pass to them. "That's between you and them" she said. The electricity company doesn't go out of its way to publicise that they pay small producers what they charge consumers.
