$26 million to operate the Selective Service (draft boards) even though there is no draft now—and hasn’t been any since 1973. That is the only one that might be defensible. I'm against the draft but unless it is public policy that we aren't going to have a draft at any point no matter what $26mil a year for the maintenance of the infrastructure for a draft isn't unreasonable. What does any of this have to do with FEMA? Its one possible explanation for why FEMA can't get their act together. But the primary reason I posted it to you is that it makes a very clear case for why pork spending is out of control. ted
