You have no idea what the rest of the world considers good times. 98% of Americans enjoy "good times" compared with the "working class" in half the world.

Why does that matter?

It puts the bitching and complaining into perspective. Saying only 20% of the US enjoys good times is similar to the $100 millionaire complaining that he doesn't enjoy the good times had by the billionaire. The poor 80% of the US that doesn't enjoy the "good times" still has it much, much better than 98% of the planets laborers. If you want to help others to enjoy "good times", you should focus on this other 98%, not the relatively very well off - but in JF's mind "poor" - Americans.

Are you prepared to take a lesser salary so we can be like the rest of the world?

One result of gloablization is lower salaries for labor. That's just a common sense economic fact - more supply of labor equals lower cost.
