That's perfectly true. Did you really expect the developed countries just to hand over largesse to the African leaders so that they could indulge themselves even more at everyone's expense? This way, the developed nations look like they are being charitable -- but the money stays in their own pockets. The African poor are no worse off than they were before -- and the leaders will be back next year begging gain -- and with renewed claims. So the game continues -- which, if you were not aware of it, is also an industry -- the African charity industry. You should speak to Bob Geldof about it sometime.
