be truly "centrist".

What exactly does that mean?

I suspect that most people tilt one way or the
other depending on the particular issue under
consideration. The term "moderate" is probably
a more apt description since it suggests a
person who is not a die-hard idealogue from
either end of the spectrum.

In the end, a claim to be a centrist is
one of those nuances we keep hearing
about, which are designed to avoid really
advocating any particular position at all.

But then again, I could be wrong.
It all depends on the reaction to my observations<g>

I would note that some of my observations have
been known to provoke group vapors; however
I recently offered to license use of that expression to
tom clarke for 50 cents a week, although he has heretofore
not responded to the overture<g>
