LOL, I've bought all of the ones you've mentioned, plus Silver Eagles and silver bags....
Generally, .9999 pure gold coins (Maples, Philharmonics, Pandas, Kangaroos) cost carry a small premium to the alloyed bullion coins (ie, Eagles and Krugs). This despite the fact that they have the same gold content by weight. For that reason my stash is weighted more toward Krugerrands, 'cause the premium becomes less and less significant as the POG rises. Presumably there's a slight advantage to Eagles in that they're officially "legal tender", but there's also a theoretical disadvantage in that if gold is ever confiscated it would likely start with Eagles. WTF knows, really? I just like having some anti dollars as part of my asset base, and all of them fill that bill nicely. In terms of saleability, I'd guess there's a marginally better market for Krugs, Maples and Eagles more than the others, but they're all pretty liquid. |
