I gather that Joe fancies himself average in viewpoints. It is clear the Dale considers himself centrist. Since I am fairly comfortable in my belief that I am a little right of center, I feel slightly qualified to judge. It has been confirmed by objective measures on multiple occasions.
Dale appears to be wrong in his self analysis. His posts and his banning behavior indicate that he is close to the boundary between the leftmost third and the center third of the American population. South African politics may be different, and I will not claim to have any ability to judge his relationship to them.
Joe's last post on Dale’s subject was slightly offensive, and perhaps Dale banned him for that. His post about me to Laz was offensive.
Perhaps I have done too little current research on Joe's political preferences. Maybe he is ordinary. <g> However when a poster refers to someone who is slightly to the right of center the way Joe did, it indicates that the author is at least 50% of the population away from that person. That means Joe is describing himself as being very close to the extreme left relative to others.
