Amir, I think Cyrix makes some sense for somebody who wants to take on Intel, and I think Koreans or Taiwanese are the likeliest to give that daunting task a shot. First, their chips and their new pcs are decent products. Unfortunately, they haven't really given anyone a reason to buy their pcs as they tend to be priced the same as Intel-based boxes from Gateway and Dell. Why should I take a chance on an unproven name if I don't get a price break? But, if that name was Hyundai or United Microelectronics, there might be more reason to take a look. But we have to keep in mind that just because a company needs a parent doesn't mean they'll get one. And it could very well be a takeunder instead of a takeover. MB
