Bush's first choice was Ken Lay for Secretary Of Treasury.
And it almost happened, but then Enron started falling. This is 100% true and proven by the Enron trader tapes where they are heard laughing about ripping off billions, and chortling about how much more they can gouge once Lay is made Sec Of Treasury by Bush. Bush was Enron's best friend and vice versa. Lay and Enron gave more $$$ and help to Bush than any company has ever given any candidate, and Bush returned the favor by helping to deregulate energy markets, which enabled Enron to gouge more from the consumers.
