Why wouldn't they be tightening the screws, they are reactive quants? There are five easily noticeable trends in this data:

1. defaults are climbing especially over the last two months

2. cures are dropping

3. new applications are falling slightly

but

4. policy issued as a % of applications is falling; 73.09% vs 83.84% YoY

5. not going to piggybacks, as HELOC lending is also dropping
