Some americans are opposed to the war because it hasnt been successful fast enough for them. But these folks who Murtha may have struck a cord with believe either fight WW2 style or avoid nation building. But they are not soft on defense and security. They could care less if some al quaeda dude has his phone tapped. Some of them are further to the right on this question than either you or I are. But the left thinks they are winning them over and thus the call for treating terrorists as criminals and not as enemy compatants. Surprise, surprise Howie Dean, Nancy Pelosi, et al. these folkd might have been inclined to listen to you about the war but now that your true colors--bend over when terrorists approach--are aired they are repelled.
