AMES is not high tech, only because they have not spend the money on the new computers and new software with data mining (not effective yet)capabilities. But, the internet E-commerce should be implemented immediately.

Microsoft has many problems in their softwares. The organization does not have overall principle engineers to supervised the philosophical approaches of software architecture. Presently, the Windows 95 cache management is not correct, leading to "reload" neccessity. Speed is favoured instead of accuracy. This is the same at Intel where predictive branching, prevents floating point calculations to be accurate. Microsoft's backward compatibility starts with 386 cpu. Last year all their development of software is done on 20,000 "386" computers with Another 4000 Pentium 60's. The backward compatibilty is fine but, the forward compatibility is dependant on OEM developing themselves. OEM copies of Windows 95 are different and can not be interchangable.

Such is the state of art. But submicron technology in semiconductor industry finds 0.35 micron like duck to water. High yeilds and profitablity comes hand in hand. 0.28 micron with die laser lithography may be quite different, including masks making and other 0.35 technology using phase attenuation problems.
