DELL is a public company with an obligation to maximise returns to its shareholders. They've done pretty well at it for a number of years - in fact AMD's return to shareholders doesn't even begin to compare.

You could argue that times have changed and now DELL needs to sell AMD (and other) CPU's to fulfil its obligations. Rollins was explaining why he does not agree.

You seem to argue from a completely different basis. That DELL's first duty is to the computer buying public and that it should offer choice irrespective of the impact of that on DELL's profits.
