And his conclusion was that it is very unlikely China would collapse into chaos and separated into numerous nations. Well the CIA would not have any authority to fire a tenured professor from his position at a University. I suspect you got your information here:

He wasn't fired from his position as a professor, he was removed from a project that was funded by the CIA.
