Part of moving over the divide from well-meaning office-seeker to statesman is the recognition that the media (including the new "fair and balanced" one) is an ADVERSARY, and using the leverage of its own dead weight against it.

Richard Nixon and George W. Bush were/are both masters of this.

I sincerely doubt John Bin-Murtha ever even THOUGHT of trying to become a leader. Now he's getting just what he deserves...
