Third supplier of quartz is ShinEtsu Quartz. It is a primary supplier to Nikon and Hoya.

Just an aside. SVG's lens design is easy on the laser, but hard on some of the glass requirements. One of its primary elements requires 3D refractive index homogeneity. That means that insteead of having to meet the uniformity spec of glass in two dimensions (like Nikon, Canon, ASML, ISI, etc.), they have to meet spec in three. Currently only one glass supplier in the world can make this material; Heraeus.
