39.5% is now Bush's high point. His low point lately is 34% but that's before all the big scandals erupt in 2006, and Bush is proven to be a crook himself by spying and lying illegally and generally being a dishonest cad and screw-up.

Nixon hovered around the 35% mark during Watergate. He resigned shortly therafter.

Clinton only hit his low point during the BS sex scandal investigations, most of which turned out to be phony, but left office with 65%, the best of any president including Reagan.

Carter was low because of events beyond his control, but is now the most admired ex president. Carter was never guilty of any unethical conduct in office.

Bush will never be admired by the US public again.
