Ingram Micro Becomes First North American Distributor of Network Engines NS Series Security Appliances

CANTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2006--Network Engines, Inc., (NASDAQ-NENG), today announced it has signed a North American distribution agreement with Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM - News), the world's largest technology distributor and a leading technology sales, marketing and logistics company. Under the terms of the agreement, Ingram Micro will now offer its reseller customers the entire family of Network Engines NS Series(TM) Security Appliances.

The NS Series, powered by Microsoft® Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004, is a family of multifunction application security appliances designed for small and large enterprises. NS security appliances are developed to add "defense-in-depth" protection and provide unparalleled application-layer filtering inside the traditional perimeter firewall.

"We are pleased to add the world's largest technology distributor to our partner list, as Ingram Micro's market reach and customer list are second to none in the industry," said Vince Ardizzone, director America's channel sales for Network Engines. "This partnership announcement is also a strong endorsement of the market's need for an appliance version of ISA Server 2004."

"Network Engines has achieved a category lead with the NS Series product line because it provides an innovative way to help companies better manage security threats," said Paul Bay, senior vice president, vendor management, Ingram Micro North America. "Our clients are asking for more powerful, consolidated security solutions. Network Engines addresses this trend by working closely with Microsoft, to create a powerful, integrated out-of-the-box appliance. This makes ease of deployment and management a reality for IT shops large and small."
