Seems the McCain-Feingold law is a real lemon
It hasn't been tried yet. It wasn't passed when DeLay was taking his bribes.

I think spending limits are a reasonable idea. They should be tailored to the number of people who are eligible to vote for the particular office not to salaries which are often artificial.
