Now that's a little silly--you shouldn't
have your feelings hurt. There is a consensus
of opinion that a purely short portfolio has
an unfair advantage in a down market.
Thanks for withdrawing that entry and I too
hope you enter a mostly long portfolio.
You'll probably have karma on your side and
win the thing now!

Going short everything is so different from
everybody else is not actually an interesting
experiment. If there were dozens of such entries,
perhaps. But that is entirely different contest--
I think in general, shorting is far too difficult
for most of us here on Silicon Investor. Choosing
a long portfolio is hard enough.

fwiw...
Last year, my entry gained 4.3%--exactly the
return I got by doing nothing with the rest of
my money, sheesh! I can't imagine trying to short
something, for that matter, I don't even do options
anymore. But that's me. Do you short stocks for real
Manny? Brave.
