Re: shorting, I defer to those who set the contest up. But if anyone asks, I think it should be allowed. I agree that a catastrophic event to the market would almost guarantee manny a win. But since the proceeds go to charity, it doesn't really bother me personally who wins and how they won. The spirit of the contest appears to be in the donations and not the victory. Besides, the most play money manny can make is $100,000. That will make it impossible for him to win when my portfolio racks up $110,000 in profits this year :-) At the least, I hope manny follows that portfolio and reports back occasionally and at year end.
