When Saddam was in power, we did not have a terrorism problem in Iraq. Invading the place has basically showed the world that we're a bit of a paper tiger.
So let's see... If we permit Al Qai'da to control Iraq, then there won't be a terror problem either...
Because essentially both the Ba'thists and Al Qai'da EXCEL at terrorizing their domestic populations.
Certainly the Ba'thist had 30 years to perfect their internal terrorism, including the Fedeyeen Saddam, the Republican Guard (Saddam's version of the SS), Al-Amn al-Khas, the Special Security Organization (SSO).
But the WTC attackers were mostly Saudis, without a single Iraqi
But ALL OF THEM were Salafist/Wahabbists.. And they are the same kind of elements we're CURRENTLY fighting in Iraq.
At least, that's the way they publicly present themselves, as Islamic Militants intent on creating a Islamo-Fascist state, where the means of production and that vast oil wealth that is possessed, will provide them the financial, economic, and political means to further their Global Jihad.
The enemy is waging a war against us, not a criminal seige. They want to destroy us, not just rob or extort us.
Thus, it will require BOTH military and police efforts to conquer them.
Btw, I do plan on watching Munich when I have the chance. But as I recall, those agents were Mossad. The Mossad can HARDLY be called a "police agency" anymore than the CIA can be compared to the FBI.
Finally, I didn't see Cheney... But I did see Rumsfield. He got right out and shook hands with our folks and everyone seemed very pleased to meet him.
