People who pledge "Bayat" to Bin Laden and Al Qai'da do so because they ARE AT WAR with the US.

You should recall what Khalid Muhammed said to his interrogators: "It was never about you."

Robbing, smuggling, kidnapping, and even heroing growing, are ALL "means to an end" for them. A way to finance their Jihad.

According to everything I've read, the Taliban didn't PROMOTE heroin growing, they STOPPED it. It only came back after they were overthrown. But please note: I am NOT defending the Taliban regime here. I'm just saying that their motives are lot more complex than you are portraying. They aren't simply driven by consuming hatred of the West, or by the desire for a world wide Jihad.

Tell me, will you blame those of us who are opposed to this war and speak out if Iraq turns out to be a Shia theocracy with stronger ties to Iran than to the US or Europe? Or if the situation in Iraq becomes an out and out civil war of some sort (and it may not be merely a civil war between 2 different sides, it could well be far more complicated than that with all of the different parties represented there)? Or will you ever concede that, even if the decision to take out Saddam was correct, the way the Bush admin went about it was half assed and incredibly incompetent?
