What these folks should worry about is the state of women in taliban type regimes, saddam type rapeocracies, or the role of women when al quaeda comes to power.

Yeah.. Surandon is just another Liberal "sock puppet" who hasn't got the foggiest idea about what her priorities should be.

I'm a firm believer that one of the causes of the recent Islamo-Jihadist trend over the past decade is the subjugation of women's rights in these regions. Women have different priorities than men. And married men are less likely to actively wage Jihad than are single guys (although they are just as likely to facilitate other young men to do so).

I recall that Arafat was facing a quandary when he was trying to "go legit". He had all of these young militant terrorists he'd trained. They were becoming restless and unmanageable.. So he helped them get married, which gave them other priorities to focus upon.

Btw, on a different note, I had an interesting conversation with a lady yesterday who had just served with US AID in Africa for the past year. She mentioned to me that US AID was not thinking about a "branding" campaign, so that any financial or economic assistance funded by the US will require some kind of label or notification that the product was financed by US Foreign Aid money...

I could only shake my head and wonder aloud as to why this hasn't been done all along? She agreed, stating that it used to be the case when US AID handled almost all of the packaging and logistics. But since most of these programs are out-sourced both to US and companies located in the countries receiving assistance, few products have any reference to "This product provided as a gift of the people of the United States"..

Just shameful we've let this marketing opportunity be wasted.

And we wonder why the US has a "bad name" internationally...
