Many people use the terms fused silica, fused quartz, and glass interchangably. However, the truth of the matter is that only excimer grade fused silica is used in the laser based DUV steppers for transparent lens elements.

The SVGL lens is comprised of many elements. Heraeus is the only supplier that can make ONE of these lens elements.
