Sirius triples subscribers in 2005, sees 6 mln in '06 Thu Jan 5, 2006 07:15 AM ET NEW YORK, Jan 5 (Reuters) - Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (SIRI.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said its subscriber based nearly tripled in 2005, ending the year with 3.3 million subscribers, an increase of 2.2 million. The company, which trails XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (XMSR.O: Quote, Profile, Research) in total subscribers, said it added 1.1 million subscribers in the fourth quarter and expects to end 2006 with more than 6 million subscribers. ---------------------- I like that word "Triples", a lot better than "near miss" or "almost"
