The Israelis will be more prone to use "show of force" to prove this point in the coming months. The only real security alternative to sharon as of today is Netanyahu and his election would be a real setback for "the hope of peace". Current new PM Olmert needs to expand the Middle for the election including Shinui and courting Labor once again. Otherwise with Palestinian violence as a probablity, the electorate will move back to whats left of Likud and the somewhat charismatic Bibi. Some people just go into the death spiral at the wrong time. We survived the loss of FDR and Truman proved up to the task. Olmert has that look about him so we can at least hope.
