Cool N Quiet

I used to have it enabled on my Athlon - an XP1800 but when I went to a Barton Mobile 2800+ and dropped the voltage to 1.45v heat really wasn't an issue for the desktop and I didn't bother. The room was not noticeably hotter and there were no issues with overheating - and I live in Los Angeles.

C'N'Q will be very important however for the living room PC where I will be doing everything to keep heat - and hence noise - down, to the point of using notebook drives.

Living room PCs are really very new. All of my friends that have media servers keep them in cupboards - not by the TV. Of course since I want to drive my TV through its DVI port that is out of the question.

I can't imagine even thinking of using an intel chip for this purpose. AMD makes the living room PC with an HDTV possible for the first time.
