Yes. Since the GLD depository is in the U.K. Don't see any reason why same day delivery is not possible.

"Delivery" however is defined this way by the World Gold Council:

"Delivery: The transfer of the asset from seller to buyer. This does not necessarily involve physical shipment but can be done on paper with the bullion remaining in the vaults of a specified bank."

Still not sure what the real intent of your question is. Delivery of physical gold, can take up to two days, shares of stock can take three days.

When spot gold is purchased by the participant brokers it is for delivery to the ETF GLD. I have no doubt that both sides protect themselves contractually.

The premium or discount determines when physical gold is delivered or taken from the ETF. This is good enough for me. I used to think that the number of days from a prior delivery had some bearing on the next date of delivery. Now I am sure it does not.

BTW: Gold was pruchased and delivered for shares today!

637,255.92 oz or 18.89 tons.

Let's see if the next time there is a premium a purchase also follows.

I do thank you for your past questions, as I might never have seen the relationship to the premium without them. But it would help even more if you would provide some information as to why you are asking the question.
