So that was you in Chicago 1968? I hated some of the folks i was marching with back then--probably geode, chrissy etc---with but the war was such a disaster and what you quote makes it even worse and makes me feel so sad. Unfortunately i think that on a smaller scale we will see some of these things post-iraq. It is a big deal when a majority of your countrymen dont support and/or understand the war you are in and dont make any sacrifice like draft, war tax etc. And at some level from what i am reading now, american soldiers are beginning to rethink as well. My sons buddy came home gung ho about six months ago. He is now against the war and feels he was grossly misled. He hates Bush. But after talking to him it seems that what he is really pissed off about is the huge sacrifice he made for a nation distracted by their real estate values and christmas shopping. No one cares again.
