I certainly haven't seen a decrease in alcohol related crime since prohibition was lifted nearly 60-70 years ago. Have you? Wow. I know I don't actually live over there, but I must have found some really obvious speakeasies in the US, every visit - you know they served me alcohol? Even the restaurants? So they're all bootleggers, yes? And you still have all these gangs, brewing their own beer - I guess that Sam Adams must be one wanted guy. And how Anheuser-Busch get away with it I'll never know, unless Bud isn't classed as drinkable alcohol (which I'd understand). Losing the sarcasm, I'd estimate there's a ~95% decrease in alcohol-related crime - certainly at the felony level - since brewing, distributing and selling it is no longer illegal, even if for Bud Lite it probably should be. And although the main "drunk and stupid" age may have moved from the bathtub gin/martini drinkers to the can chuggers, I'd doubt there's significantly more notable crimes committed - especially if you weigh, say, DUI and spousal abuse against vandalism and nuisance.
