Joe, I think there is a problem. If you remember some past, there were "difficulties" in ramping up Athlon K7 platforms, there were platform "instabilities", "fragile" as Dell said, dual-K7 chipset 760MP never saw a daylight, lots of mainboards were recalled and reworked, all other AMD chipsets supporting S2K bus were eventually phased out, etc. As you might guess, all this stuff was supervised by AMD Chief Platform Architect. I am of firm opinion that this hickup cost AMD hundreds of millions. It turns out that the guy was reassinged to oversee low-power mobile platforms about 1.5 years ago and exiled into Japan:
