Assuming for the sake of argument that that is so, it could just be the natural escalation of cycles. In cycles of violence, each round outdoes the previous one. That's the normal course of things. The next round will be more toxic than this round if we don't stop it.

I have concern that there are enough deranged, angry whackos out there that at some point we may see assassination attempts, much like we saw in the 1960's and 1970's (remember Squeaky Fromme and Sara Jane Moore?).
