"Anglo culture" is a tangent from the thing I was responding to, which is how to successfully resist the spread of Islam, prevent the free democracies of Europe from being taken over by Islamic majorities, prevent Islamic fundamentalist theocracies from taking over more countries in Africa and Asia.

Everything Pope Benedict said is true. We cannot expect Islam to moderate, to embrace modernity. It's not possible. It's inherently contradictory to the core of Islam.

There are many very nice Muslims who are personally tolerant of individual differences and willing to live and let live. But no Islamic country is respectful of the rights of non-Muslims. None, except, as he said, Mali, which is a desert. So, 97 out of 98 Islamic countries don't tolerate other religions.

And religious freedom is the source of many of our other freedoms. If Islam says "women can't work, or vote, or walk on the sidewalk unless all covered from head to toe" -- what is the counterweight? If Islam says "non-Muslims must pay a tax and wear a patch on their clothing or else convert" -- what is the counterweight?
