What exactly would that position be? I farm, and know many farmers, the vast bulk of which are very right wing, but they really do like farm assistance in many forms. AFAIK, farmers are by far the biggest recipients of welfare of any group in the USA. It is always called something else however.

BTW, I do agree that most people, myself included, are bizarre combinations of left and right on various topics.
