They are formed when a balance point gets out of whack and cant be identifyed. They come in many forms and sizes but they are almost always there to be indentifyed. This is a wonderful tool, exspecially when combined with other indicators to determine the exact area that a trend is likely to end. Examples on the chart are up moves, the exact opposite occurs in down moves.
