Do they have to carpet bomb Iran, destroy Teheran or maybe kill 10 million people? Once war starts it becomes uncontrollable and I doubt war will even "fix" the problem. In fact, the problem has nothing to do with Iran's nuclear aspirations but with demography -- there are simply too few people in Israel and especially in comparison to Islam. Even Iran has 60 million against Israel's six million. Iran argues that if Israel is allowed to have nuclear weapons then its need is even greater because it (Iran) has ten times as many people. But maybe one day, although I don't see it, Israel will wake up to the reality of its situation -- which is that its long-term survival depends on the goodwill of the surrounding countries and not their hatred.

I think they will be in serious trouble if they put ground troops on Iranian soil or even threaten to. Bombing is one thing but conventional-type warfare is another. And, if there is an imminent threat of war, the Gulf of Hormuz will be closed and no tankers can pass through. The oil price will shoot to $100+ in minutes, gold will go through the roof -- and the various economies of the world will be in serious trouble -- without a shot being fired.
