Jump to first matched term DALLAS, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated
(NYSE: TXN) is announcing today that it is dedicating $100 million to a
venture capital fund to accelerate market development efforts linked to
digital signal processing (DSP), the key technology behind the digitization of
electronic end-equipment. The investment is the largest ever venture fund
directed at this rapidly growing market. TI will target investments in
companies developing the next wave of DSP applications and markets,
particularly start-up companies seeking initial funding.
TI Ventures (L.P.) is a limited partnership with Hambrecht & Quist
(NYSE: HQ). TI is the sole limited partner and Hambrecht & Quist manages the
fund as the general partner.
"As the world leader in digital signal processing solutions, it is vital
to Texas Instruments that the best minds in the industry are pushing the
envelope on DSP applications," said Tom Engibous, president and CEO of Texas
Instruments in his keynote speech today at DSP World in San Diego. "We want
