I believe that regime change is a must in iran if we decided to go the bunker busting route. The students may be liberal but they are also nationalist and are pro-acquisition of nukes--stupidly imo given the current regime. If we take away the nukes, we also need to remove the ayotollahs. Iran with nukes will be like stalin in the early 50s. Israel and Iran would be at a standoff, assuming the iranians are ultimately rational, but what about iran and us and assymetrics and handing off nukes to al quaeda or other terror groups for blackmail purposes. The ability to get a nuke in a port ready to blow didnt exist when stalin had them.
